Scotty Hopson: CEO of Ground Up Basketball

Brian "Scotty" Hopson is a 6'7" guard who has played professional basketball across the best basketball leagues the world has to offer over the past eight seasons. The 29-year old Kentucky native has spent time playing in the NBA for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericks, and Oklahoma City Thunder. Additionally, Hopson has excelled at the highest levels of European basketball in Israel, Spain, Turkey, and Croatia, as well as the NBA G League. This past season, Scotty was selected to represent Team USA and played in the World Cup Qualifiers in November 2018, where he led the team to qualify for the World Cup with a win over Uruguay.

Scotty was ranked the Number 5 player in the country coming out of high school as a five-star recruit in 2008. He played 3 seasons at the University of Tennessee, leading the Volunteers to a Number 1 ranking and an Elite Eight appearance in 2010.

A prolific scorer, Hopson set an NBA G League record 52 points for the Sioux Falls Skyforce in 2015 and holds a career scoring average of over 18 points per game in the NBA G League. He spent the last season as a member of the Oklahoma City Blue, the G League affiliate for the OKC Thunder, where he averaged 17 points and 4 rebounds per game this past season while leading his team to the Western Conference semifinals.
